Day 1: Arrival Day

Arrive in the early evening on KLM into Kilimanjaro International Airport. After customs and immigration formalities, you will met by the Africa Nature Photography & Safaris team and transfer your accomodation for the night.

Day 2 & 3: Tarangire National Park

After Breakfast, we will load the luggage to your safari car and drive south through Arusha to the prehistoric-looking Tarangire National Park, where you will arrive at your accommodation in time for lunch. After lunch you will spend the afternoon wildlife viewing against the backdrop of baobab trees and umbrella-thorn acacias, visiting the Silale Swamp and Tarangire River.  This area is famous for some of the largest herds of elephants in Africa and in the dry season they congregate along the life-giving river. Here you may see also lion, leopard, cheetah, lesser kudu, buffalo, oryx, eland, giraffe, zebra and over 300 species of birds. The following day is dedicated to wildlife viewing  and further exploration of Tarangire National Park.  It thanks in large to Silale Swamp that acts as a giant sponge during the green season and slowly releases water during the dry season that we are ble to enjoy the thousands of animals that are attracted to it.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater

The day begins with a dawn nature walk. Overlooking Lake Manyara you will have the opportunity to see flamingos, as well as a host of other birds and animals, up close and personal. We return for a late breakfast and then depart for Ngorongoro Crater. We will stop at a Maasai village for a cultural experience; including seeing how this famous tribe live and partaking in beadwork with the Maasai women. After the Maasai village experience, we will continue to the crater, stopping on the way for a delicious local lunch.

Day 5: Exploring Ngorongoro Crater

The Big 5 in Africa, RhinocerosAt around 05:45 we will have a very early start, collecting breakfast and lunch boxes, and descend into the crater for an in-depth exploration of this distinctive eco-system. Enjoy abundant wildlife viewing set against the impressive backdrop of the Ngorongoro Crater, the heart of this conservation area. These drives provide one of the best opportunities in Africa to view black rhino, which tend to spend their time on the crater floor. Ngorongoro Crater is one of the world’s greatest natural spectacles; its magical setting and abundant wildlife never fail to enthral visitors.

Day 6: Serengeti National Park

We depart Ngorongoro Serena Lodge after breakfast and visit the Olduvai museum en route to Serengeti National Park. Olduvai is one of the most important prehistoric sites in the world. Known as the cradle of mankind, the gorge stretches for nearly 50km from Ndutu to the Olbalbal depressions. The Leakey’s are the archeologists responsible for most of the excavations and discoveries at Olduvai Gorge. They unearthed about 60 different hominid remains dating back from 2 millions years ago to 17,000 years ago. The remains of about 7,000 extinct animal species have also been unearthed and molds of some of these artifacts can be seen in the small on-site museum.

Day 7: Exploring Central Serengeti and Kopjes

African Safari Lion 4x4 vehicleYou will spend the whole day exploring the Seronera Valley and the entire central Serengeti. You have an option of breaking the day into two by doing early morning and late afternoon wildlife viewing viewing. Drive through the central Serengeti in the golden light of dawn looking for special wildlife interactions and photographic opportunities, by departing at first light with a picnic breakfast. Alternatively, you may choose to enjoy a more leisurely breakfast at the camp instead of a picnic breakfast and depart with picnic lunches for a full day of game drives exploring different areas of the central Serengeti.

Day 8: Bush Flight To Arusha

After Breakfast, you will have a morning wildlife drive exploring the Seronera Valley before driving to Seronera Airstrip for the flight to Arusha Airport, on arrival you will be met and transferred to Arusha City for your flight home.
